WE FIRST ENCOUNTERED RAY YEARS AGO IN PERTH WESTERN AUSTRALIA WHERE
HIS CHARACTER ED FLAK WAS KICKING ASS ALL OVER
TOWN. THERE WHERE PLACES IN PERTH IN THOSE OLD DAYS WHERE NEW TRYOUTS COULD
WORK THERE STUFF AND HONE SKILLS AGAINST AUDIENCES THAT LOOKED LIKE SOMEBODY
HAD FORCED THEM TO GO AND WATCH COMEDY THEY REALLY DIDNT LOOK LIKE THEY
WANTED TO BE THERE. FREMANTLES STONED CROW WAS POSSIBLY ONE OF THE BEST
PLACES TO LEARN STANDUP THE HARD WAY.
Rays act has progressed over the last ten years to become a slick clean
even intelligent piece of the craft. when you watch him you get the keen
sense that theres something intelligent going on in that mind. He honed
his skills with other such notables as Stigg Frankie Roster Nervous Erving
Shane Hill Nick the Noise and a host of others all of who where starting
out together at the small clubs in W.A.
The Act: Nothing short of brilliant and intelligent.
flashes from suberbly dry to pure classic wit there used to be stuff about
his grandfathers drinking problems and how grandad like to eat out, well
they would put him out and how hard it is to hold a stubby when your still
in nappies.
Currently working all over melbourne and basically kicking ass, if
you saw him ten years ago what you'll see now is the experience the knowlegdge
of his time in comedy and the mystery of a bloke that still looks like
a big kid. some one suggested to us a few days ago before writing that
mayby the Xray glasses where too much, others think they might come back
into fashion.
