STEVEN HARRISON |
What do you say when a genuine tradie goes public, not much. not where he can hear you anyway. Steven Harrison moved to the full time standup ranks about three months ago. and is doing exceptionally well. we caught him at the S@G and the Commercial lounge. Where to be quite honest he kicked ass big time. what's his style like, well its kind of like watching a mate on stage, That guy you've been working with who you think is OK then you find out he is a comedian in real life. One of the brilliant thing about his approach is that its ten minutes into it before you realize its actually a routine very casual and extremely well done.
Steve says the alter ego thing got too much and he had to leave his job so that he could pursue a career (?) IN COMEDY?
The Act: Steve is one of the few comedians who seems to be able to change his material on a regular basis talking about things that have happened to him in the last few weeks. For example he's just come back from a tour with Chris Franklin, he tells us all about it. Some how he works cows and sheep in to the story. A fair amount of the act relates to his former life as a tradie, basically he takes the piss out of them, and them waits for them to react to it. for example tradies are slowed down by their fingers loosing them is not really a problem it is in fact an advantage. Its a hoot! I have no doubt we will be seeing a lot of this guy around the place.
Ideal for the workers clubs or footy type venues.
